Works with Codex, Claude, Cursor, or any other agents. I’ve always been passionate about pushing the boundaries of design software, spending years with tools like Figma, Blender, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. But some design tasks need different software — tailored exactly to your needs and creative vision. Apps that aren’t vendor-locked. Apps you can freely modify to make your workflow faster and better. A year ago I started building design apps for the projects I was working on, but I was always starting from scratch or babysitting AI over and over again just to get a proper canvas, controls, toolbar or timeline. That took time. Plus AI sucks at design, so the components it spat out were usually terrible. I wanted to work in an environment I’d actually love to spend my workdays in, so I designed and built Toolcraft. What Toolcraft includes
- - A starter app built with TanStack Router, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Base UI
- - A canvas with the familiar pan and zoom controls you’d expect from a design tool
- - A component library with buttons, dropdowns, sliders, font pickers, color palettes, curve editors, image uploaders, and more
- - Built-in layers, animation timelines, and keyframes that your agent can turn on as your app needs them.
- - Image and video export workflows
- - An AI harness that gives your agent the skills, instructions, and checks to build on Toolcraft’s design system.
- - Unit, browser, acceptance, and performance checks
- - All the code behind your app, ready to customize with your AI agent What can you use Toolcraft for:
- - Procedural graphics and gradient generators
