The cross-language and schema/IDL support of FlatBuffers. It can generate typed msgspec.Struct models and read-only FlatBuffers views from .fbs schemas. Its JSON, MessagePack, and FlatBuffers codecs also support very fast encoding/decoding of Structs containing NumPy arrays (with or without a FlatBuffers schema). In my benchmarks, msgspec-serde encodes FlatBuffers about 20–22 times faster and decodes them into complete models about 11–13 times faster than the official Python FlatBuffers API.

But I'm not procrastinating; the truth is that I'm blocked from doing most of the work. There are two different people that need to remove some heavy equipment that's stored there. Until that's done, I can't access the mess behind the equipment. Since most of my garage clean-up tasks are downstream from the equipment removal, if I focus on those tasks, I feel frustrated because I just can't make progress on that myself. The solution to the frustration is to focus on the things that I actually can do: the things that aren't blocked by other tasks that need to get done first. I think in visual terms, so I built a task/project manager called unSnag ( https://unsnag.app ) that creates a graph showing what tasks you can do right now and what tasks are blocked by prerequisite tasks. You can add your task info manually, or you can have unSnag do it automatically. You can type or dictate all the tasks that are on your mind, how long they'll take, relative importance, due dates, how the tasks relate to other things on your plate, etc. It doesn't need to be in a clean, structured format. You can type or dictate it as a messy "brain dump" in your own language and unSnag will analyze it (currently using OpenAI models) and create the task entries. A deterministic engine then shows you a graph of your tasks, how they relate to each other, which tasks can be worked on right now ("ready"), what your critical paths are to meet your deadlines, and other helpful info. unSnag is free to use, and there's no account needed. The task data lives in your browser and you can export your tasks to a local JSON to back them up, or if you want to sync your tasks across devices via the cloud, you can sign in with Google or using your email address. Couple of honest caveats: This is a web app that looks best on a bigger screen. It'll work on your phone, but the graph view will need to be zoomed and panned because of the small screen. There's no sharing or collaboration. And (for now) it doesn't sync with your calendar or other to-do apps. I'm continuing to build out features, but I'd love your feedback and suggestions. You can leave it here or use the Feedback option in the app. All feedback is welcome, including "I'd never use this"; if that's you, I would appreciate some suggestions for improvement.
